The latest generation of P.O.S. transaction authorisation systems developed for Bank of Valletta plc. by S.E. Link Ltd. as a part of the SecuriLink suite of Card Payment and Transaction Processing Products is a major upgrade to the existing Electronic Point of Sale (E.POS) devices and has a number of advantages namely:

Lower Cost per Transaction: The existing E.POS system requires that each E.POS device is connected to a telephone line and that each device must make a telephone call for transaction authentication and approval to the bank's server per transaction. HPOS eliminates the use of standard telephony equipment and makes the authorisation via the SecuriLink Merchant Gateway connected to WAN using TCP/IP thus eliminating the cost of the excess telephone lines and the cost of a telephone call per transaction.

Faster Response Time: Under normal circumstances HPOS can authorize or reject a transaction in less than five seconds compared to the approximately 45 seconds per transaction of the E.POS network.
